I’m sure we’ve all struggled to find what to watch after Breaking Bad, given that it was the best show in television history.
I’ve missed feeling that strong anxiety and desire for a show, but I have found two shows that are enjoyable. One of them is cute and fun, and it isn’t even in English – it is called Professor T. It is a European dramedy and it sucked me right in. I can’t wait for Season 3 to come out.
The other one, and the reason I chose this particular distopian image, is called The Handmaid’s Tale. It is a disturbing distopian future of what will happen if particular branches of the conservatives win. This is the first time I’ve felt like I need to see the next episode badly, the first time I’m nearly falling off my seat and dreaming and thinking about episodes since Breaking Bad. I highly recommend this one.
If you’re not looking to torture yourself or are waiting for The Handmaid’s Tale to finish first (smart move, as I am struggling to wait for the next episode), you can watch Prime Suspect 1973 to see young Jane Tennison starting her way in the police force or even consider watching Australian series Rake, which I am waiting for the next season of. I am jealous of anyone who hasn’t watched these phenomenal series.
If you’ve not seen Prime Suspect (the original), go ahead and watch all of it now. That’s it – I’m all watched out and need to go back to writing my book now. Thanks.
