Unsettling, but the world is pushing forward.

What an unsettling year it has been. With COVID19, the promise of potential vaccines and the start of vaccinations, people are thankfully optimistic. Still, the borders remain closed. Life is quiet. I do enjoy the quiet life, but wish I could see overseas family and friends. Everybody wishes that.

I almost can’t imagine a life pre-COVID19. Things which are so normal now, seemed so odd previously to many. You’d see the occasional person walking around in a mask, and people really never stopped to wonder why. It was obvious that those that’d already survived something similar were wearing them.

I am incredibly disappointed in those refusing to wear masks or being rude to service staff. This is unacceptable behaviour generally, but even worse during a pandemic when it is dangerous for the service staff to be at work.

Our country is doing a good job in protecting its people, for which I am truly thankful. I hope that the new normal remains. I don’t want people on the train breathing down my neck again. I don’t want for it to be acceptable to invade my personal space or knock past me on public transport. I don’t want to return to the office. I don’t want pubs to go back to being vile places, I rather like them being civilised.

Call me uptight, but I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way. I’ve had so much more time to game and do my hobbies; so much that I’d even forgotten to post here.

I hope everyone is well, isolating and socially distancing. Good luck to you, world; let’s hope the good stays with us and the bad is eradicated soon.
